Kalami is a small, traditional Greek village situated on the northeast coast of the beautiful island of Corfu. Our apartments are located just 50 metres away from the famous ‘whitehouse’ home of the waiter Lawrence Durrell.
This is one of the most wonderfully picturesque villages on the island. Its verdant hillsides tower above the idyllic horseshoe bay with its crystal clear waters. The beach itself has been awarded the Blue Flag for its cleanliness and offers a wide variety of water sports.
There are 5 fantastic tavernas in the village, as well as the San Antonio resort hotel at one end of the bay. There are also two well-stocked supermarkets close by, and a couple of bars.
In the evening, small boats come to ferry you over to the next bay. There are three more lovely tavernas here with fantastic food.
A short walk away from Kalami is the fishing port of Kouloura, with its small church and fish taverna. This is an excellent place to stop for a breather, before taking the short walk to the lively bay of Kassiopi.
Boat taxis are an excellent way to get around, and they are always coming and going from Kassiopi. A 45-minute journey from here will take you to Corfu Town, the largest city on the island.
Our lovely housekeeper runs a taverna with her husband Dimitri up on the hillside of Kalami. The taverna offers fantastic panoramic views of the bay. This is a great place to have a drink and watch the sunset. They will happily send a minibus to pick you up any time you would like to visit.
When you arrive, you’ll receive a welcome pack from our friends at Mario’s Supermarket. This contains all the information you will need to make the most of your stay. There is a small bar above Mario’s which is another lovely place to have a drink.
Just along the beach from the villas is Thomas’ Place, a fabulous local taverna with lovely food. At the opposite end of the beach is Kenny Kayak, for those that love to paddleboard or canoe.
Whether you’re looking for the authentic Greek experience, or just somewhere to relax and unwind, look no further than Kalami Villas Corfu.
